free drawing
During two weeks, three to four hours a day, I sat by a
table in the Drawing Spaces Gallery. I made my services publicly available as a maker of all kinds
of images . I announced that I would accepted all kinds of requests (drawing in a classic
sense, project drawing, illustration, abstract drawing, etc). I also announced that I wouldn't keep
a record of the image I made and that I would freely hand it to the visitor just
after I finished it. All questions asked where in order to fully
understand the visitor’s wish.
In the conference to present the project’s results, I read aloud all that had been requested to me during the two weeks. Here is an abridged version of some of the requests: "a garden filled with buried and semi-buried objects"; "saying Yes to life in Cracow"; "a portrait of us two as an aristocratic couple, with a porcelain dog by our side"; "Alentejo's sun light".
For the conference, I also invited one person for whom I had drawn. Through the crossing of our perceptions and experiences, we made a verbal re-enactment of the process of the drawing.
